To record our next mix we have invited two talented producers beyond our eastern border. Russian duo Easy Changes prepared for us a nearly ninty minutes dj set which concluded a lot of unreleased material. This is a large dose of funky minimal rhythms soaked dark character with a huge dose of fat bass.
In addition, two of amiable Russians agreed to make an interview with us, which tells us about their early days, the last visit in Poland, and the plans for the upcoming New Year's Eve and New Year's capital. We invite you therefore to listen the mix and read the interview.

 

BIOGRAPHY
This duo techno project of (Denis Cast, Kilrill Sil) as we know by the name of Easy Changes, who made lot of noise with they back to back two releases on Foundsound records continue to develop they unique symbiosis of rhythmical patterns with the world of mysterious sounds and sub minded mood currents. Easy Changes create unique suspense that catch the ears of techno funs all over the world. As a result core of they music has continues progression, kind of like a story with multi scenarios between current and future life's. Traveling during touring has influence artists and give lots inspiration that keeps coming out in a beautiful forms of music creation. In just two years duo grab attention of world underground techno circles and release music on labels like Foundsound, Konque, Stock 5, Multivitamins, Igloo and many more. Easy Changes play major role in Russian underground techno scene also they are the core of Nervmusic. Moscow first minimal techno label that broadcasts super exciting music from Russia with love.

INTERVIEW
electronicmusic.pl: How the Easy changes story began and where did name come from?

Easy Changes: The story began when we just met in the small record store where I was working as a seller of CD's and Sil was manager of vinyl section. In few weeks after we met again and somehow we became to be a neighbors in the same area of Moscow. We started to meet more often, spend more time with music, parties and others. The name is came to Sil from nothing and the funny thing that we was scared to forget it cause we liked it a lot so we took the soft-tip pen and wrote he name on a fridge.

Recently you were in Poland, in Koszalin, how do you remember yout first visit in our country?

It was really nice, especially the people who invited us to play are special and we really respect what they are doing for this city. Actually even before we played there I already heard about Nbar and knew that they have very good choice in music. So we had a lot of fun together that night.

If you'd have to choose a place to live - Moscow or Berlin?

Berlin of course, just because it’s more easy going you know...

Your first EP "Caviar" has been released in 2007 on Foundsound records How this came to work with Sean?

Actually our first EP was called "Magic Tunes" and the "Caviar" was a second one. When we just made couple of tracks we decide to send it to someone. Of course we knew Foundsound at that moment already but we didn’t expect that something could happen with it. So we sent few messages to few labels and the first one who was asking was Sean.

First Nervmusic release was "Karen" EP produced by you and it became one of the hottest new labels of this autumn immediately. I guess that label idea was the initiative of a larger group of people, so what's the story behind It?

Nervmusic is 5 persons: we two, Artem Polyanskiy also known as Pol’, Andrey Garpelovich and Jennie Sobol. All guys (except us) also producing parties.

How your cooperation in the studio looks like and what tools/gear do you use in production process?

We have some hardware stuff, but at the moment we even don’t use it because everything what we need is Reaktor. Also we are waiting for the Max/Msp for the Ableton!

Is there a place where you will never ever play again?

We do not have such a black list, but we know places where we would like to play again and again.

Tell us something about techno music scene in Moscow, its only one town in the Russian electronic music map?

We think there is nothing to compare with Moscow in other Russians towns, but seems like St. Petersburg on a right way at the moment, something is going to change soon there. What is very good, because city is very special and a lot of art people there. Between we have a Nervmusic night in St. Petersburg in a few weeks.

How and where was the mix recorded?

The mix was recorded at the same place where we doing RTS.FM radio show in Berlin. But it wasn’t on air time so we choose the best records we have at the moment and play it as we usually do it back to back.

Your favorite track in the mix?

Denis: I can’t tell you the name because lots of tracks are still unreleased.
Sil: at the moment is Matthew Dear as Jabberjaw with track "The Connie Shake"

  Your planes for NYE and for first part of the 2010?

At New Year eve we'll play at the big party in Moscow at ARMA17 with Ricardo Villalobos, Raresh, Zip, Masomenos, Rudolf, Margaret Dygas. I guess even with Russian cold winter there will be really hot! After this we’re going back to Berlin and will touring around Europe and then in March we will go to US.
